Digitizing

All artwork for embroidery must be digitized proir to production. Digitizing is the process of converting your artwork into a digital file that the embroidery machine uses to sew every stitch in the right place with the right color. Every order includes free digitizing. We will email an Artwork Approval Request with a digital proof of your digitized design for you to approve before production of your order.

For most simple logos like the example below you can see that most of the detail is maintained, but some of the very small details will be lost.

For more complex logos with high levels of detail it may not be possible to reproduce exactly. In the example below you can see that the smaller text was too small to be embroidered accurately so it needed to be omitted. The complexity of the leaves and other elements also needed to be simplified.

Pricing For Embroidery

Embroidery prices are based on the number of stitches in your design.  The price for an embroidered design starts with up to 15,000 stitches and the price increases $.50 per each additional 1000 stitches.  Most simple designs up to 4"x 4" can be reproduced with 15,000 stitches or less. Using the above examples can give you an idea of how complexity will add to the stitch count and the total cost of the finished product.

Highly Detailed Logo

Stitch count for 4"x4" logo: 37,000 stitches

The additional 22,000 stitches will add  $11.00 each to the price 

Simplified Logo

Stitch count for 4"x4" logo: 19,000 stitches

The additional 4,000 stitches will add  $2.00 each to the price

Artwork Guidelines For Embroidery

Embroidery is best for logos sized 4"x4" or smaller

While it is possible to use embroidery for larger designs it will affect the total price of each item.  See Pricing For Embroidery below.

Using an existing embroidery file

We use .EMB files for all of our embroidery. If you already have an .EMB file you may upload it into our online designer while placing your order. For all other files types we provide free digitizing with each order.

All Uploadable FIletypes:

.cdr, .png, .pdf, .eps, .svg, .svgz, .jpg, .jpe, .ps, .gif, .tif, .dnt, .json

Adobe File Types: .psd (Photoshop) & .ai (Adobe Illustrator) files can be emailed directly to us or uploaded using our quote request form. Please make sure all the text in your file been has converted to outlines or flattened.

Additional file types

Highest Quality: .PDF, & .SVG

Vector-based graphics will result in the highest quality representation of your logo. The best vector formats to upload are .pdf and .svg but we also accept include: .cdr, .eps, and .ai* - *please note that .ai Adobe Illustrator files cannot be directly uploaded into the online designer, but they can be uploaded as additional files with your order. If you need an Adobe file to be converted you can send it to us using our quote request form. Please make sure all the text in your file has been converted to outlines or flattened. Learn more about vector graphics.

High Quality: Transparent .PNG 300 pixels/inch

Using a transparent background is ideal for because it makes it easier to digitize. A resolution of 300 pixels/inch (or dpi) is recommended for best results and should be at least 150 pixels/inch.
